A: You don't know what is actually in the drug that you will get. Its never safe to take a drug that you are not 100% sure whats in it. What if you get a drug that has something in it that you weren't aware of? Kinda scary, wouldn't risk it. Some drugs can have a very dangerous affect of people that are'nt meant to take them.

I know legally a pharmacist is not allowed to dispense prescription drugs without a prescription. But, what if they witness/encounter someone who is in an emergency and needs the drugs to survive, what should they do? I know its a complex question, and the fact that addicts often fake symptoms to score drugs, but what is a pharmacist to do? I personally feel that the pharmacist still should not dispense these drugs unless given a presciption! Cheers!
A: they should call an ambulance or something. If the person is that desperate (not to score but medically desperate) they can get a prescription

A: The problem with buying overseas drugs is you are never sure of the quality of the medicine. It is estimated that 70% of all medicine sold in China is not what it should be. Either greatly diluted or only looks like the medicine and not really the real drug. Then you have the problem of getting it through the postal inspectors who will not allow prescripiton drugs through.
I think the best bet is to travel to a country like Mexico or Canada and purchase the drugs there. I know it's a hassle but if the cost of the drugs + travel is cheaper, well...

A: YOu have to have a prescription to get an opiate. Simple. That is why they are called 'controlled substances', as they ARE controlled. (If it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is......).
YOu can try to order these meds, but at the very end of getting your personal information, you will more than likely be asked for a prescription (and after they have your credit card number), and if you aren't.....don't waste your time as it could easily be a con.

Q: Can you legally dispose of prescription drugs without a pharmacy tech license?
I work in a locally owned pharmacy that lets anyone dispose of the prescription drugs that are returned by clients. They have hazardous waste boxes in a small room where the employee fridge is at. My question is, don't you have to have a tech license to handle drugs in ANY WAY and can this be considered illegal since ANYONE can easily stick their hand in this box full of pills of all kinds and steal them? Who should I notify?
By the way, the RX in charge is the owner and I wouldn't want to hint the possibility that I may report them. The boxes they use to throw the pills in are WIDE OPEN, like i said I can go in and grab a handful of pills myself..it's got to be illegal.

A: Well, in most cases, unless the pharmacist has received emergency medical training in their career and is up to date on their certifications, then technically they should not be expected to actually diagnose a patient in the event of an emergency presentation. In such cases, diagnoses should be made by trained and certified medical personnel only. Since such personnel (EMTs, ERTs, PAs, MDs, etc.) have DEA rights to dispense and/or administer Rx drugs, then there would be no issue with the pharmacists who was nearby to dispense the necessary drugs, as the above listed medical professional would be there to make the call and legally request the drugs.
Now in the event that there is no medical professional around with current certification, then the pharmacists could legally dose That patient, if they had up to date ERT certifications. Of course this should never be done unless there is no other option. From this the pharmacist would be protected under the Good Samaritan's Law.
In all other cases, even though a pharmacists has the ability to access a very broad amount of Rx drug compounds, he or she should not dispense them without the proper paperwork or UPIN info as given by a licensed medical professional. They should instead practice standard life saving techniques and call for EMT/EMS right away. There is not issue with giving a patient some OTC drugs (such as aspirin in the event of a heart attack or Tylenol in the event of a high fever) BUT it is vital that this is only done if the pharmacist can confirm that the patient is not allergic to such medications. If this cannot be confirmed then it is best to wait for the EMTs to arrive so that if an allergic reaction occurs, the necessary equipment and medication to reverse the reaction will be readily available.
