A: My mom had it and swore by a product called the skin doctor.
It is a product that had aloe vera and emu oil in it. She went to doctor after doctor and tried all kinds of stuff that didn't really work that well.
I just called her to find out where she buys it and I put the link below.
She said she spent thousands trying to find what a 23 dollar Skin Doctor has done for her.
Hope it helps you like it did her
Q: Any doctors or physicians here tonight?
Would a "Coal Tar" lotion (specifically Exorex for the treatment of Psoriasis) increase transaminase levels? I cant find this on the net anywhere.
A: No, especially as this topical preparation has no systemic absorption.
There are lots of other reasons to have a transaminitis from other medications... even "benign" medications like Tylenol or substances like alcohol. People who are overweight may have a transaminitis from "fatty liver". Viral hepatitis (A, B, or C) will cause this also. Of the infectious causes, hepatitis B and C are more likely if you have no other symptoms.
Anyway, it's not the coal tar preparation.
Q: A few questions about Psoriasis?
Hi, ok i have a few questions about Psoriasis, in the past year i have been getting more and more spots all over my body and i have come on here to ask actual people there experience with it.
I have been to my doctor several times and it just seems that he doesn't have many answers (which is understandable because it is a condition in which doctors do not have alot of answers for)
I have googled it, but i just wanted to ask here to find out what has worked for them and what hasn't because i am willing to try new things.
I have approx 20 patches all over my legs and arms, and they just keep popping up.
I have a few questions so even if you can only answer one, any feedback would be great.
1. Has anyone successfully used the steroid cream or the Tar cream and actually have the marks totally disappear and stay away for a long period of time? Or are these creams just to keep it under control.
2. Has anyone used over the counter treatments that have successfully made them fade/dissapear, if so what is the brand name?
3. Has anyone started off with mild psoriasis (like in my case approx 20 spots here and there) and it has eventuated into severe psoriasis (example all over your back, front, face etc.) If so how long did it take before it went from mild to severe?
4. If Psoriasis is an Autoimmune disease are there any vitamins or tablets that i can start taking to maybe regulate my immune system?
5. Are there any diets that i can follow (for example Gluten free diet) that has worked for anyone?
6. Is there any thing in particular that i should stay away from (e.g. certain products, food etc.) that may flare up my psoriasis?
I think that is mainly it, i basically just want to know what everyone has tried and what has worked for them?
These are the products that i have tried so far with no success:
* Daivobet steroid cream
*Exorex tar cream
* Natralia Eczema and psoriasis cream
*Aloe Vera Gelly
Thanks in advance guys, i do have an appointment with a skin specialist, but its not until 3 months away (apparently dermatologists are in high demand these days) and i cannot just sit here and do nothing, it is affecting my social life as i dont even wanna go out anymore because of people staring and thinking that i have sores all over my body.
Sorry just another question that i forgot to ask:
Is there any over the counter products or even some home remedies that i can use that relieves the itching, sometimes it drives me absoloutely nuts and i have to scratch them, which probably makes them worse. Thanks :)
A: Answers:
1. Yes, from tar with phototherapy: http://phototherapystore.com/Skin_Conditions/About_Psoriasis
Steroid creams are only temporary
2. Dovonex, taclonex, protopic (safest)
3. Yes, me. I have severe psoriasis so I am in ghe 1% or psoriasis patients with severe psoriasis. Took 5 years to get there.
4. It is an autoimmune issue. No, no supplements to take.
5. I have tried many diets. None helped. I have not found a psoriasis patient who has had diet help, and I have spoken with more than 40 severe psoriasis patients. Foods can be triggers for some people, but not clear it.
6. Only if you have found one that triggers your psoriasis, such as shellfish or beef.
Q: Sick of Psoriasis i need a treatment help!!!?
Hello im 17 i live in Australia, WA Ive had psoriasis for about 4 years now it just got really bad in the past 2 years i get stressed quite easily, i have it all over my back, chest and stomach and i have a bit on my face near my hair line + behind the ears, I'm just getting really sick of it not being able to join a sports team, go in the pool/beach, have a girlfriend etc i keep reading that people can have gotten rid of it but i think i have tried almost everything here are some of the things i tried Advantan cream, Psor-Asist cream, Daivobet and a few other creams from the brand Leo, Exorex, Champori just off the top of my head i also had the light therapy thing but its almost 2 hours away and you go to it every second day. I just don't know what to do its really been getting to me lately. help would be appreciated
A: You treat it from the inside not the outside. Take 3 fish oil capsules a day a.m., noon and night. It will take a month or two.
Q: Help me to get rid of my Skin Problem?
Hi everyone,
I'm male, 21 years old.
I have two questions, the first one related to skin rashes and the other related to scalp psoriasis.
1. I have been having skin rashes for the past six months now, what doctor calls
PR rashes. These
rashes appear only on my arms and legs and they are itchy sometimes. They disappear once I apply the
ointment, which was prescribed by the doctor, continuously
for three to four days, but comes back again. Doctor says, its cause is yet to
be found and no treatment has been found out yet.
It is disgusting as these are clearly visible.
My questions are: 1. Is there any treatment for this?
2. Are these rashes any kind of symptoms for something really worse?
2. I'm having boils on my scalp and it itches a lot sometimes. Doctor says I have
scalp Psoriasis and prescribed me Exorex lotion to be applied twice in a week but didn't
say when can i stop it. I'm suffering hair loss because of this.
Please advice me on what should I do with respect this.
Thanks for your time and advices in advance.
A: It sounds like you may have a build up of toxins in your body, and a detox diet might help you.
Unfiltered apple cider vinegar may help with the rashes, and it's good to drink to cleanse the body of toxins as well.
Hope this helps!! Good Luck!!!
