Q: CAn you buy Kwellada P cream without a prescription? Anyone have an EASY time getting rid of scabies??
A: Scabies is NOT easy to get rid of...especially if you have a bad case or one that does not react to the normal treatment.
Here are some directions for a product that seems to work at controlling scabies and mites etc that you may want to try:
SCABIES AND MITES: Use 4 ounces of KLEEN-FREE in your bath.
Soak for 15 minutes, get your hair in it also. Try to bathe in the late afternoon to early evening. Try to air dry instead of toweling off and let the Kleen-Free dry on your skin.
Plan on using KleenFree in your bath everyday for the first week then every other day the following week.
Also use 4 ounces of Kleen-Free in your washing machine. You can use a small amount of other detergent at the same time. Always use the HOTTEST WATER you can in all these washings and rinsing.
Apply Kleen-Free directly to the spots that are itching throughout the day.
You buy Kleen-Free on line at kleen-free. com. I have bene told that it works well and since it is non-chemical, it is safe for use by people.
Good luck.
Q: Kwellada and breast feeding?
Hi,
I am currently breast feeding my son and my mom has a condition called scabies; and I applied some prescription medication called Kwellada on her back, I washed my hands really well after applying it to her, but was just wondering if in the very quick time that I had it on my hands, if my skin absorbed any of it and most importantly, is it still safe for me to breast feed??
Any answers will be very much appreciated!
Thanks
A: I just Googled the drug and it says "safety while nursing not established." I think you're probably okay, but call your pediatrician and talk to the nurse on call about it.
Q: Scabies treatment...please help?
I need to explain this in detail b/c I've searched the internet and I haven't found a concrete answer.
I was diagnosed with Scabies (eww!) towards the beginning of August. I did two treatments of Kwellada-P. Which left me with tingling and crawling sensations on my face, head and pubic area. The doctor says this is because Kwelleda is toxic and tingliing is a side effect. He says the mites look to be all dead. I have also been takinig baths in neem oil, using neem soap and neem lotion every night. Been about 2 weeks now. I have vacuumed, bleached, and washed everything I came into contact with, covered my mattress with a vinyl cover. I wash my bed sheets and comforter every 3 days and on the days I can't I put it in the dryer for about 20 minutes along with any clothes I've worn or will be wearing. I bought new sandals to wear inside the house on the carpet so as to not touch the carpets with my feet. The itching has gone down 90%. Tremendous relief...BUT just two nights ago I woke up and I always inspect all areas where burrows may appear and I noticed a very small burrow! I'm about to lose my mind. After everything I've done! I haven't been extra itchy or anything...still feel 90% better than I did a few weeks ago. So do you guys think they're dead and maybe it's just remains being pushed out of my skin!?!? Or am I re-infected? The doctor said I cannot use Kwellada again because of the tingling and since now my face and scalp are also itchy (apparently due to the lotion). It's impossible fighting an invisible enemy. I'd rather take bed bugs over scabies any day! Can I take a hot needle and poke the burrow? Will that kill or prevent any eggs from hatching? Will I become more itchy once they hatch? How long does it take for them to hatch? Does Neem oil kill the eggs or just prevents the mites from reproducing? Please help!!!!!!
A: It sounds like you've been through a lot with this ordeal. Usually in the US they use elimite but in any case, it sounds like you have treated yourself properly as well as are doing the cleaning that is recommended. I would not think that using a needle is a good idea. You could get a bacterial infection and your skin is already compromised. Neem oil is supposed to work as a contraceptive and prevent the eggs from hatching so that seems useful to continue to use the neem lotion. As long as you are not in an environment where others have scabies and can be reinfesting you, you seem to be follownig the protocol properly. Scabies does not effect the scalp and face of adults so that sounds like it shouldn't be an issue.

Q: Am I to believe that these white flecks on my bed are bedbugs?
I haven't actually seen anything wierd crawling on my body, but for at least two weeks now I have what my doctor says is BEDBUGS. I have numerous bites like mosquito bites all over my back, legs, arms and head. Are these white things that look like dandruff, bedbugs?
I have washed all my sheets in hot water, sprayed the bed and couched with a recommended bugspray and vacuum EVERY DAY. Yet I still have them. I also use the Kwellada Lotion much too often, after I shower every night.
What bedsheet changing regimen should I use to keep their numbers down?
I wish I had my own washer and dryer in my apartment so I could wash as often as I wish, but I just have the laundromat across the street.
What can I do?
A: It isn't enough to clean the mattresses and launder the sheets. Furniture should be overturned and cleaned. Carpeting, wood molding, door jambs, picture frames, and closets should be inspected as well. Bed bugs can hide behind loose wallpaper, in the crevices between carpets and walls, behind outlet covers, and inside light fixtures, smoke detectors, and even clocks.
Bug bombs and aerosol pesticides will not rid an area of bed bugs.
