Q: Who invented Robax Platinum back pain medication?
A: Wyeth Consumer Healthcare invented that combination product, but the active ingredient, Methocarbamol is related to Guaifenasen, a decongestant - and actually partially metabolized into that drug in your body.
Q: Can anyone recommend a good muscle relaxant?
It is for lower back pain, specifically, Sacrolillac Joint pain. Tried Advil (Ibprofuen), Robax Platnium and Tylenol 3 (Acedaminaphine). None of these are having any effects. Anyone tried anything, with or without a prescribtion, that has worked for you?
Thanks
Seeing a physical therapist, doing excercises as recommended but I still have pain and trouble sleeping at night.
A: Here are a few links to sites that may help you far better than Rx meds. I have a spine injury and take Soma every day but I have found good information on these sites that often helps more than the medication. Good luck. I know it's a real pain in the ^^^ not being able to sleep well night after night.

Q: I think I pulled a muscle in my shoulder?
I'm not exactly sure if I did, but the back of my neck/somewhat of my left shoulder area had been hurting yesterday and I woke up this morning crying because it hurt so bad and it took me so long to get out of bed because of it.
I took an extra strength tylenol this morning and it didn't help whatsoever. About a half an hour ago I took a robax to see if it helps.
I was just wondering if anyone knows what this might be?
It's really painful. D:
A: make sure you stretch
Q: I have been getting severe headaches. My doctor told me to buy Robaxin Platinum......?
I can't find that anywhere and anything that is Robax is always for back pain. Can anyone help me?
A: robaxin is a muscle relaxer. is it possible your doctor thinks your headaches could be coming from your upper back or maybe tense muscles in your shoulders? if you are in the U S you need a perscription for robaxin. call the doctors office and ask for a clarification. normally you can speak with the nurse for clarification.
good luck.
Q: Multiple Lumbar spine disc extrusions, degenerative disc disease?
I ~thought~ I had one major problem, a extruded disc @ L5/S1 that pinched the sciatic nerve root. After bouts of loss of bladder and bowel control (sorry for tmi) this weekend, and a stay in the hospital I find that the discs from L2 through S1 are all significantly bulged, S2/S3 slightly and multiple nerves are pinched. Spinal tap, myleogram, Ct all showed it. I'm falling, in constant pain, somewhat incontinent, and having a really hard time dealing. I have 3 small children also. I'm kind of in limbo until we get a nerve conduction test done. The neurosurgeons say they can't do anything. My pain managment doc can only do so much. So, my question, anyone else out there dealing with similar? I'm on Lortab 5 (what a joke, but I HAVE to be able to function for the kids.), Lyrica 100 mg 2/day, Effexor xr (shrink says I'm not clinically depressed, but this can help w/mood some and it may help w/pain), and robax
I am planning on a second opinion. Waiting for a nerve conduction study to see how much damage there is. Neuros are afraid that operating right now would destabilize the spine too much.
A: Im a bit shocked at the fact that your neurosurgeons say they cant do anything about it. maybe you should get a second opinion, it is your right after all.
Q: i have tmj ....it hurts quite a bit...i need advice...?

im going on a big road trip vacation and im scared of hurting all the way...any tips? anybody? thanks!
ps: i only know this , since a week only....
sheri
A: Probably should be evaluated by a dentist. They may suggest a nightguard to help control the muscle clenching.
Q: I hurt my neck and the...?
Hospital gave me Toradol 2 days ago, I was wondering if I take Robax Platinumf it will give the same relief?
A: Toradol is a non-steroidal anti-inflamatory medicine. Robax Plat has a different kind of NSAID (Advil) and a mild muscle relaxant. Either should work about the same depending on the dose you take.
Q: Stiff neck?
Hey guys.I have had a stiff neck for 2 weeks now. It's not painful unless I turn to my left or right. It feels like I have to crack my neck but I can't.I have tried everything to get rid of it but nothing works.I have tried massages,Advil,Robax Platinum, hot water bottles, stretching .sleeping only on my back and nothing has work.Recently I have noticed my jaw on my left side is really tight to the point of hearing a crack when I move it side to side,
It's feels really good when it cracks almost relieving the pain.
I have also noticed a dull pain on the top left side of my head which hurts more when I turn my head to the right. Should I get this check out???
A: Yes, get it checked out. If nothing has worked to get rid of it, it is time to see the doctor. If you are noticing these other symptoms you mention, you need to mention them to your doctor. No one on this site, even if they were a doctor, would be able to diagnose you. You need to see a doctor in person.
Q: Can heart problems cause muscle pain?
I was born with pulmonary valve stenosis which was corrected.
Now iv'e been diagnosed with an enlarged right ventricle and severe pulmonary valve regurgitation. I suffer from severe muscle pain everyday and sometimes it feels like my muscles are tearing . I talked to my doctor and he sent me for test after test and they can't figure out what it is but he says he's sure it's not connected to my heart. I'm a 31 yo male and I can't support my family laying on the floor crying because I can't move. There aren't too many doctors around where I live but they all just want to give you painkillers and get you out of their office.
I've been put on every painkiller you can imagine but right now he's got me taking 3 tylenol3 twice daily and 600mg of ibuprofin twice daily and told me if that's not enough to take some robax platinum as well. I don't know what's going to fail first my heart, kidneys or liver. I need help to figure out what can cause this much muscle pain.
A: I don't think valvular heart disease would cause the severe muscle pain that you are experiencing. I'm not sure what all testing you've had done, I'm assuming they did a blood test to look for muscle damage (CK, CPK)?
If you aren't happy with your current MDs answers, see if he/she can recommend a specialist for you to see about your symptoms?
Good luck, hope you feel better soon.
Q: I have a huge Headache, and it wont go away!?
I've had a horrid headache on the back on my head where my spine comes up through my neck.. right where it ends.
I've tried taking Asprin, Tylennol, Tylennol #3, Robax Platinum, and Novo Ketorolac, and nothing has even help with the pain at all
I'm having an MRI for some pain in my eyes, they can't find anything wrong with my eyes, so they think there might be something up with my brain. Could it be related to this...
What's wrong with me?
A: Have you tried Imitrex? I get headaches that I begin at the back of my head where it meets my neck, then they take over my whole head. My doctor said it was a tension headache, but this headache would make my eyes hurt, also make me feel like throwing up. When I take Imitrex, it all goes away within an hour. Its a miracle drug I swear. But in all reality, your brain stem is right there, where you said it hurts. It could be something else neurological. But don't panic, you should not jump to conclusions. Next time you are at the doc, ask him if you can try a 100 mg. Imitrex. It shouldn't hurt, and it helped me to continue living a normal life :)
Q: thigh pain??
i have this sharped pain in the back of my thigh would robax platinum help relieve the pain?
A: This pain you have could be an indication of a pinched nerve such as with the sciatic nerve (giving an example only) but the only way to know for sure what is going on is to see your doctor for further evaluation of the situation to see what they think could be going on.
Q: Lower back pain for 3 weeks now, getting worse!?
I have had lower back pain on the left side for 3 weeks now. Feels likes its in the middle. It now to the point that sometimes it had for me to bend over, walk. and this morning I had a problem getting out of my car. 5 years ago i had back surgery for disks, but its not the same pain i was getting than. this is generated in one area only, doesn't go anywheres. It really feels like I pulled muscle. I have taken robax, but no good during the day because it knocks me out. Extra Strength Advil helps alittle now. I need something to help me until i can see a doctor. Any suggestions?
A: Remember when you had back problems? Heat and ice! I really would start switching off between them and take an antiinflamitory as well. I also had disk surgery and I see a chiropractor on a regular bases. I still get some really bad back problems but it is usually confined to one area like you spoke of. According to my Doctor he says that is good that it is in one place so with that said I think you are Okay. Just take it easy until you see the Doc. and the heat/ice really does help!
Q: suggestions on getting rid of muscle spasms in my legs?
I've been getting little musclespasms in my legs since mid febuary, the longest one lasting for pretty much a week. they aren't painful or anything just extremely annoying, and they only happen when i'm not active (lying down, sitting down) I've got a small one right now on the right knee cap , its lasted like 4 days, and still going strong. what can i do to get rid of them? I eat bannana's on a regular basis, so its not potassium. i'm not overly active so its not that either. any suggestions?
i also get them in my shoulders and hands but that doesn't happen often, i think that its normal
i heard that robax platinum might help, what do you think?
i already pointed out that i already eat bannana's
A: go to your doctor.
i have restless leg syndrome and it sounds extactly like what you explained.
your doctor can find out what is causing this and get it under control.
(there are medicines that help releieve it and help you get to sleep)
Q: What causes leg cramps at night and how to prevent them?
This morning was the worst I have had in recent memory! I am still in pain. I took 2 Robax Platinum tablets and put some Rub-A535 ointment on my back legs.
Some mornings I awaken to absolute agony from these cramps. I took a nap earlier and elevated my legs by putting a pillow underneath my calves.
Please help if you can.
I know what you mean (((Cloversetter)))
So many good answers - I am afraid I am going to have to cop-out and put it to a vote. But I am personally going to try several of your suggestions.
Thank you everyone for your advice....
A: Exercising is probably the most common cause of muscle cramps. Exercising hard cause small rips in the muscles. When the muscles are being worked too hard, they can respond by cramping up. Cramps are also caused by hyperflexion--bending a joint beyond where it is supposed to bend. This can cause the muscles to contract protectively, resulting in pain and stiffness. Dehydration and lactic acid buildup also contribute to exercise-induced muscle cramps. Basically, anything that works your body really hard can cause cramps.
Well.,u can try this to eliminate the cause of night cramps.
Step 1
Drink at least 6 to 8 glasses of water every day so that vitamins and minerals can adequately be absorbed in the body.
Step 2
Stretch your legs every night. One way is to stand at a forward tilt about 30 inches from a wall, keeping your heels flat and steady. Slide your hands up the wall to lengthen the muscles in your legs. Hold for about a minute.
Step 3
Maintain supple muscles by swimming or participating in water exercises.
Step 4
Wear appropriate walking shoes and stay away from high heels.
Step 5
Be sure that you are getting enough calcium, potassium, magnesium, and Vitamins E and A.
Hope dis will help u...^^
Q: Would this kill someone?
So, A full bottle of tylenol extra strength, Full bottle of Robax Platinum, and 30 tablets of Gravol (50 mg ... I think). Two energy drinks to wash that down. Subject is 17 year old girl, lightweight. 5' 7" 123 pounds.
Seriously guys.
If you aren't gonna answer the question don't reply.
Shannon: Thank you. Called the suicide hotline. Read that article. All of it. Went to the ER. Was admitted. Talked to a school councellor. Talked to a teacher. Talked to a friend. Talked to an aunt. Talked to a parent. Talked to a psychologist. Talked to a psychiatrist. Talked to another psychologist. Talked to another psychiatrist. Talked to a doctor. Punched a guy in the face (not even joking). Talked to kids help line online. Travelled around the world to find myself. Analyzed my personality, what caused it, what the consequences were and how to change. What am I missing here? Please do tell me What is left to do?
A: I know you're serious about this, and you're sincere in your desire to die. However, I think some small part of you is crying out for help, for someone to save you from yourself.... which is why you stopped to post a question in the yahoo answers mental health category.
If you're desperate enough to take a full bottle of tylenol extra strength, a full bottle of Robax Platinum, and 30 tablets of Gravol... then you should be desperate enough to try ANYTHING. You have to understand suicide is the most drastic of actions taken in response to any problem. If you're willing to kill yourself, you need to be willing to jump on a train and travel the country, join the circus, anything.... you have got to make sure you have tried every single option available. (And no one ever has...so this is impossible). Do everything you're scared of doing. Tell people what your ashamed to say. Punch some idiot in the face. (Well, try the other things first anyway.) Because at the end of the day, everything is a better option than death. If you live with someone go shake them awake and have them drive you to the ER. Drive yourself to the ER. Walk, bike, run, call a taxi, call an ambulance. At the very least, call the hopeline 1-800-suicide.
Of course, I don't condone suicide and no one should ever do it. But, if you're considering it, remember that at THIS moment, you may be feeling really bad... but it may be a passing feeling. So, tell yourself you'll wait a week or a month, and then re-think it. Also remember, you may have a mental illness, but a mental illness does not have you. Depression may want you to kill yourself, but you, the real you, doesn't want to do it.
Do me a favor (one last one you could say) and visit this website: http://www.metanoia.org/suicide/ ...and actually read some of it. Please.
